How to Set up Windows Mail for Vista OS
This tutorial shows you how to set up Windows Mail for Vista OS.
To Set Up Your E-mail Account in Microsoft Outlook
- Click Start | All Programs | Windows Mail
- If this is the first time that your Windows Mail has been run, the mail setup wizard will pop up, click Cancel, then Yes
- If Windows Mail Import dialog box pops up, click Cancel, then Yes
- Click Tools | Accounts...| Add

- Select E-mail Account and click Next
- In the Display name box, type your name
This is the name that recipients will see when you send them an email message
- Click Next
The Internet E-mail Address screen will be displayed

- In the E-mail address box, enter your full email address, e.g.yourname@yourdomain.co.uk
- Click Next
The set up e-mail servers screen will be displayed

- Select POP from the drop-down list - this step is very important
- In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, enter pop.gcwweb.com
- In the Outgoing e-mail server(SMTP) name box, enter smtp.gcwweb.com
- Tick Outgoing server requires authentication and click Next

- In the E-mail username box, enter your mailbox account name (that GCW supplied you with)
- In the password which GCW gave you. (please note this is case sensitive)
- Tick Remember password if you wish to save your password.
- Click Next

- Ensure that Do not download my email and folders at this time is unticked
- Click Finish
|

- Windows Mail now downloads a copy of your mail from the server, wait for this process to complete
- Click Close
